Question 1: Would you support or oppose increasing the number of Justices on the Supreme Court?
We asked this question specifically of folks intending to vote for Biden.
Regarding the expansion of the Supreme Court. I can understand the desire behind it, if say the Democrats win the Presidency and Senate, they can expand the court to 13 justices and pack the court. My question is, where does this lead? If and when the Republicans would gain control 4, 8, or 12 years down the road, then they expand the court to 25 justices and do the same? Is that what we want?
While I don't think we (the Republicans) should force a Justice prior to the election, expanding the court after a Biden win is a horse of a different color. Parties lose sometimes and sometimes its at inopportune times, thats the name of the game - to suggest that we begin to change the structure of our government for our own purposes is a VERY slippery slope - one our founding fathers did well to design "brakes" to avoid.
This is all to avoid any one party getting too much power (we should all cherish and protect this ideal). The end of our republic, God forbid, will come when we begin to erode the structure of checks and balances that has kept any one party from anything close to total power for over 200 years. Be patient, fight within the law, and the pendulum will swing back ... it always has.
Question 2: Would you support or oppose term limits for Justices on the Supreme Court?
Trump / Pence
Biden / Harris
Undecided
Third Party
The Supreme Court seats are one of my biggest issues with the American government. How has this branch that was created to keep the other two in check become so political? They should be ruling off the Constitution, period. Why should it matter which party fills the empty seat?
I think all facets of elected government should have term limits. Congress and the courts. There should be age limits too cuz there’s too many 80 somethings making decisions
Question 3: Every major professional sport is currently playing. A few members of the Tinaverse want to know: which of them, if any, have you been watching?
Trump / Pence
Biden / Harris
Undecided
Third Party
Why didn’t you list the CrossFit Games? Easily the best sport around (and the best Community!)
Oh wow. Someone into CrossFit mentioned CrossFit. Didn’t see that coming.
Where was the NCAA football option for sports I'm watching??? (Although, very bummed about ND's postponement for the Wake Forest game. Hoping those covid cases get under control...)
You answered your own question. If Notre Dame isn’t playing, college football doesn’t exist in the Tinaverse. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.
2020...UGGGGGG
Is that a general “Ugggggg” or are you a Georgia Bulldogs fan?
Question 4: Have you lost any friends over politics in the last year?
Trump / Pence
Biden / Harris
Undecided & Third Party
No Undecided voters and 25% of Third Party voters said “Sadly, yes”.
I’m not a fan of unfriending over politics—to quote Justice Ginsburg (Z”L), “You can disagree without being disagreeable”—but I’ve definitely learned who’s worth talking to and who’s not. Some conversations simply aren’t productive and are a waste of time for all involved.
Should've had Fortunately, yes as an option. Happy to have racist, homophobic "friends" out of my life.
The friends (and family) I lost to politics were gone before this year.
Favorite fall activities in the Tinaverse…
Why is fall here already
No idea, friend.
Apple picking, pumpkin picking, all the gourds.
APPLE PICKING! PUMPKIN PICKING! BAKING!
Hiking, apple picking, eating apple cider donuts
Love autumn. Pumpkin carving, scary movies, casual seances, getting lost in a haunted maze, chilly night around the fire, and so many delicious desserts!
I mean this sincerely — how is “getting lost in a haunted maze” fun?
Tailgating for any event, small or large, but especially football games (even if they do not allow fans). Drinks, snacks, grilled meats, backyard games in the crisp fall air, as the golden and burnt orange leaves gently drift from the towering maples and oaks. What could be more perfect?? Going to a middle school soccer game? Tailgate it! Going to a theatrical performance? Tailgate it! Going to stand outside waiting for an iPhone release? Tailgate it! Going to Thanksgiving dinner with the family? Tailgate it (for sure)!
I most appreciate that you tailgate at middle school soccer games.
Wearing a vest and riding boots, dressing my husband in a corresponding flannel, and going apple picking just for the pics.
Everyday I look forward to putting my child on the bus, that’s my new fun fall activity!
Apple picking, always!
Always?
letting anything and everything be spooky...just get creative
But here’s the problem: I’m not creative.
GUACtoberfest
Is GUACtoberfest extra?
My favorite fall activity, is not sweating the second I walk out the door. Fall will always remind me of #FrostValley
This comment is only for a segment of the Tinaverse, but IYKYK.
Hanging out at reckers
And this one is for another segment of the Tinaverse, and I’m appreciative for this walk down memory lane.
Planting Spring flowering bulbs so there’s something to look forward to!
Love your forward thinking.
Apple Picking, Pumpkin picking, hiking, baking, cooking with root vegetables, roasting, lighting seasonal candles, layering your clothes, fall decorating, leaf peeping - fall has so much to offer, J.J.!
Layering your clothes is not fun.
Bike riding with a light jacket through a leafy bike trail.
Social distancing
Well played.
(sadly) my ass. fall is the best season!
Bite your tongue. And watch your language!
Migrating to warmer climates
Now we’re getting somewhere.
No but pumpkin picking is for chumps
Okay, I’ve found my people.
hiking, watching football, wondering if it would be better to live in miami where it does not get cold..
How can you even wonder that? Isn’t it obvious?
I live in Florida.. the best thing is being able to open up the windows and letting fresh air in and decorating with fall colored fake plants haha
That sounds sublime. Y’all can keep your foliage.
