Good Wednesday Morning.
It’s been a little while, huh? It’s good to see you all again.
We’ve also got a bunch of new members today, so to all of you who are joining us for the first time, Welcome to the Tinaverse!
We’ve got some exciting news to share: Tina recently won a grant from Columbia’s Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship Center. The grant will help us grow our reach, foster this community and continue to chase our mission to change the way we talk about news and politics.
But the grant is a testament to you, the Tinaverse.
For every day you share your voice, for every friend or family member you’ve encouraged to join us, for every comment you’ve raised and every question you’ve suggested, thank you.
We’ve got a domain name.
While Talk to Tina emails will continue be delivered right to your inbox, you can visit the homepage, where you can find all of the previous emails, at tina.today. It’s easy to remember because it’s Tina… and then a dot… and then today.
We’re also now on the social webs!
If you’re on Twitter, follow us @TalkToTina. Each day, we get so many great comments and questions, and we can’t include all of them in our daily digests. We’ll use our Twitter feed to give voice to more of what you have to say — and give you a chance to engage with the comments from others.
You can also follow us on LinkedIn. We’ll keep it a little more buttoned up over there.
We’ve also got some questions today, so click on the Let’s Talk button to get started.
69 days until Election Day.
Share Tina
Until we can get a Tina sign for your window or front lawn or a Tina bumper sticker for your car, why don’t you share Tina with a family member or friend or that one neighbor who annoys the hell out of you.

If someone else invited you to this party and it’s your first time here, why don’t you add your name (or email address) to the guest list and we’ll make sure you get the invite every day.

Question 1: Do you believe Chinese-based companies like TikTok and WeChat represent national security threats to the United States?
Trump has done more to fight Tik Tok than Covid. Sorry teens and Sarah Cooper made him look bad. They get no more info than Facebook and Google. And if concerned about national security band it on government issued phones.
I use both TikTok and WeChat but was only allowed to select one. To be perfectly honest, the fact that the US government can dictate what companies I can or can't do business with as an American citizen bothers me just as much, if not more so, than any potential threat either of these platforms may pose to national security.
Question 2: Do you use either TikTok or WeChat?
We broke down the results to this question into two groups: folks who believe companies like TikTok and WeChat represent national security threats to the United States vs. folks who do not (or are not sure).
Those who believe TikTok and WeChat represent threats
Those who do not believe TikTok and WeChat represent threats (or are not sure)
Question 3: Do you find yourself watching live sports more often, less often or about as often as you did prior to the coronavirus pandemic?
Question 4: One of our community members wants to know: When do you brush your teeth in the morning?
Is drinking just coffee in the morning considered breakfast?
Yes, yes, a million times yes.
Question 5: On a scale of 0 (the worst) to 10 (the best), how are you doing overall?
Though the average dropped to 6.9, there were a few pockets of some really good news out in the Tinaverse:
I'm pregnant!!! It's early days so we can't tell anyone yet but this is anonymous, right?? If not, please disregard.
This is totally anonymous, so you’re good. How exciting! Wishing you the very best.
10/10 Getting married on Saturday (virtually of course).
That’s an 15/10. Congratulations!!
