Good Thursday Morning.
On July 31, the Coronavirus Aid Response and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which added $600 per week from the federal government to state unemployment payments, is set to expire. Should the federal government extend those payments? And if so, for how much? We want to know what you think!
Next, we want to get your views on the federal agents in Portland, Oregon. Finally, we’ll end with a user-suggested question about… the proper position for toilet paper. Click on the Let’s Talk button to get started.

Question 1: As we look ahead to the 2020 elections and you contemplate the candidates you may support, which three (3) of the issues listed below are most important to you?
I would almost be a single issue voter on drug policy reform and decriminalization, as I think it would solve a lot of other public health and social issues. Unfortunately, neither candidate is focused on this (although Biden's stance is much better than Trump's).
Abortion is health care - they should not have been separate. I chose abortion but would have just chosen health care had it not been separated.
Q1 needed a 2A option - This is the first, second, and third thing I consider when voting.
Question 2: Candidates for office, whether for national or local office, are being forced to adapt to the coronavirus. One of our users wants to know: Which of the following typical campaign events do you believe are appropriate to hold during the pandemic?
your campaigning question today missed a big choice: WEBINARS! I am running for re-election to my local NJ Township Comm and ZOOM is another tool I am using. I am using invite only, allowing my supporters to set up their own groups that I join and setting regular ZOOMs to just pop-in to chat, ask a question or get to know me.
The question about appropriate political events for the presidential race: all are appropriate! This is a race for the leader of our nation.
It’s late July, are we starting to hear echos of “debates are unsafe” as a way for Joe Biden to avoid any public scrutiny.
Visits to restaurants etc. where they are open and in accordance with local mandates-no issue. Not sure if any of the candidates can hop on counters ala Beto but don't see anything wrong with circulating and conversing with folks like anyone else would.
All debates should be held via Zoom from here on out. They’ll be much more efficient and organized if the moderator has the power to mute a candidate who attempts to talk over another, and to mute a candidate who exceeds the time limit for a given question.
Question 3: At his coronavirus press briefing yesterday, President Donald Trump asked the American people to "get a mask." "Whether you like the mask or not," he said, "they have an impact. They will have an effect and we need everything we can get." Does President Trump’s recent make you more or less likely to wear a mask?
As far as Trump saying to wear a mask now, does that really matter? If he had a cure for cancer tomorrow, people would spin it and say negative comments. Just venting and tired of know it all people.
amazing that it took until late July for the president to tell people to wear a mask
Question 4: Do you trust the COVID data more or less following the White House’s instruction that hospitals report their data to the Department of Health & Human Services rather than to the Centers for Disease Control?
Covid testing, data gathering, tabulation and dissemination of the results has been a disaster!! I don’t trust ANY of what I read or see on the news. I do believe it is serious, but I think it has proven almost impossible to get accurate numbers.
The change in data reporting is really concerning - we have reached a point where I do not trust our government to have our best interests as a nation at the forefront. It is all smoke and mirrors.
Question 5: Finally…
Right dog. Because he's the right dog.
You can’t debate that, folks.
Would a snake's garment on its back half be considered pants or a sock?
No, no, no, no. We’re not doing this.
