This is a little weird, right? A Tina email… on a Friday afternoon?
A few weeks ago, we asked for favorite summer drink recommendations. The Tinaverse, as was expected, came out in full force with some great recommendations: creative personal concoctions, classic cocktails, choice beers. One person even answered my personal request for good summer vacation destinations within driving distance of New Jersey.
So now, before the weekend gets too long in the tooth, we wanted to share that list with all of you. It may not yet be five o’clock where you are, but it is here.
Enjoy your weekends, everyone. Cheers.

Destinations
Anne’s Washington Inn in Saratoga Springs. Family-run Inn taking phenomenal steps to ensure the health and safety of guests. Saratoga has a tremendous amount of things to do outdoors within a 15 minute drive, as well as a great downtown area. Highly recommend it, straight up route 87 about 25 mins past Albany!
Mixologists Present:
Some of you suggested your own creations (or your own takes on classics), so those are presented as you suggested.
Gin, cappelletti, lime juice, simple syrup, soda
Bourbon Lemonade. If you can get the slightest hint of mint in there too... good lord, grab an umbrella and cancel the rest of your day.
Casamigos tequila, fresh lime juice and a splash of grapefruit juice over ice.
Favorite drink right now is a summer spritz hodge-podge with prosecco, lillet blanc, fresh lemons, fresh herbs (rosemary, mint, basil, etc.), simple syrup, fresh berries (blackberries, blueberries, etc.)
Watermelon cosmo—blend 2 cups of watermelon in a blender, strain the pulp from the juice, add vodka, garnish with a mint leaf. Sooo refreshing!
Wine slushies are pretty epic. Strong recommendation for Thousand Islands Winery if you can spare the time to visit (Though they apparently bottle and sell now too!) Otherwise - make your own: Partially freeze sweet/semi-sweet bottle of red and a bottle of white in ice cube trays-blend with half can of grape soda and half can of lemon lime. Voila! Oh and PS. they'll knock you on your a**. Drink responsibly-and slowly.
The PSA to drink responsibly is appreciated here!
Raspberry Lemonade (add tequila) with fresh berries

Fan Favorites
Some of you suggested some classic drinks for the menu, but not everyone in the Tinaverse is a mixologist, so there’s a description of the drinks in parentheses.
Shandy / Radler / Clara is a refreshing treat! (beer mixed with a lemon or lemon-lime flavored beverage, like lemonade)
Ranch Water (tequila, lime juice, and topo chico)
Moscow Mule (vodka, ginger beer, lime)
Aperol spritz (prosecco, aperol, soda water)
Cadillac Margarita (margarita made top shelf tequila and Grand Marnier instead of triple sec)
Wow. Top shelf. We’ve clearly got some fancy folk in the Tinaverse.
French 75 (gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, sparkling wine)
Lemon vodka and seltzer with a splash of lemonade. To die for on a hot day.
Negroni (gin, campari, sweet vermouth)
7&7 (Seagram’s Seven Crown and 7 Up)
Gin and Tonic / Diet Tonic
Blue Hawaii (rum, pineapple juice, Blue Curaçao, sweet and sour mix, occasionally vodka)
Long Island Iced Tea (vodka, tequila, light rum, triple sec, gin, cola)
My early 20s would like to have a word with the user who suggested the Long Island Iced Tea.
This may sound ridiculous.... but Natural Light's Naturdays (strawberry lemonade) lager is delicious and a 10/10 would recommend. Perfect for the never ending heat advisory I'm living in...
I mean, it does sound ridiculous (Natty Light? …Really?), but if you say it’s a 10/10, who am I to judge?
Narragansett
For people not familiar with New England, that’s a beer for people from New England.
Non-Alcoholic
Re: favorite summer drinks, am I the only one who’s content with a nice big glass of water???
Favorite summer drink: Sun tea, hands down
half iced tea/half lemonade
Diet Coke... Best Summer Drink!!!! Also Fall, and don't forget spring, not to mention winter. So good all year to be honest :)
How much did Coca-Cola pay you to say that?
Liter of Cola, or a Large Farva for Non Alcoholic
Nice reference! 10/10.
