Good Tuesday Morning.
Yes, it’s the first day of September, but I’d like to propose a moratorium on playing that Green Day song this year.
More pet adoption advice from a member of the Tinaverse who works at Pedigree:
Regarding the suggestion to adopt, for anyone seriously considering it (remember, it is a big commitment!) check out PedigreeLoyalty.com. If you adopt a dog and purchase two bags of Pedigree Dog Food (15+ lb) by 10/31, Pedigree will pay your adoption fees up to $200 (yes, I work for the brand :) )
And a follow-up:
So I’m not sure who submitted that false fact about animal adoptions but I sure hope they at least honestly answered the corresponding question about lying in a talk Tina... dog adoptions are not down, in fact they are overwhelmingly up. So much so that many rescues, at lease in NY, don’t have any dogs available for adoption. We foster with a local rescue and they literally cannot keep dogs “in stock”.
And… well…
So my cats name is Becky. A local cat cafe has 2 Karens up for adoption. Should I go check them out and have a theme of cats that will demand to speak to your manager?

Question 1: For which Presidential ticket do you plan to vote this November?
There were also a handful of votes spread across Hawkins / Walker (Green), “I’m not going to vote” and Carroll / Patel (American Solidarity Party), which was a write-in but will be on the Tina ballot going forward.
Question 2: Have you ever lied when answering a Talk to Tina question?
Not being facetious...what is the purpose of lying to a survey?
What type of person would lie in an anonymous survey?
We’re all about to find out.
Trump / Pence Voters
I’m terrified to say that I’m even considering voting for trump publicly. I know my values and people making an assumption about me based on who I want to vote for makes me sick.
I told them I was still undecided about who to vote for.
Biden / Harris Voters
No fibs actually--but when the answer falls into a grey area, maybe I pick one that I'm not sure of yet, and sometimes maybe that is the one I would prefer or hope for-even when it's still uncertain.
So do I intentionally lie? I don't think so, but if I were to review all my answers especially the binary or select from a group of X number that I don't fully agree with in any particular circumstance, is that the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? You buy that and I got a COVID vaccine to sell ya.
You have a COVID vaccine? Tell us more…
Third Party / Undecided Voters
I’m not Catholic, but talking to Tina is what I imagine going to Confession is like. Haven’t said any Our JJs or Hail Tinas, though.
No, no, no, no, no. I do not endorse this. Any of this.
Question 3: Last week, a number of professional sports leagues paused, as players protested racial injustice by refusing to play. The NBA later resumed play, after team owners agreed to designate NBA arenas as voting sites in November. Do you support or oppose athletes protesting in this way?
We need to stop asking if people support the *form of protest* and start educating people on the underlying causes. I don't care one bit if sports are paused, but it is a lucrative industry and they are using their platform for change. The CHANGE should be the focus.
I see sports as entertainment. The league brand is owned by the league, the team brand is owned by the team ownership. As employees of the team, I don’t think athletes should be allowed to use games as a vehicle to advance their political agenda. Most corporations do not allow it in the workplace. Why should athletes be treated special?
I admire professional athletes who are willing to take a stand (or a knee) for what they believe in. They are obviously aware that their voices carry more clout because they (and the sports they play) are such a huge part of the fabric of American society. Sadly, those who don’t believe athletes should use their platform to speak out, that they should “shut up and play,” will cast them aside just like they did healthcare workers, essential workers, and teachers. They prefer to compartmentalize their leisure/entertainment and their introspection, and seem to be deeply and personally insulted when the two collide.
Question 4: Finally, as we bid farewell to August, what's your favorite season?
Autumn! Football! Halloween! Pumpkins! Spooky season!
Counterpoint: Summer. Sunshine. Cookouts. Warm weather. Bliss.
For me the answer to the last question depends entirely upon location. In California it is spring: long and filled with blossoms. In Montana it is autumn: slanting light, cool nights, comfortable days. In northern Michigan it is summer. In St Louis there is no best season, only worse seasons.
This comment reminded me of that one line from Kid Rock’s “All Summer Long” where he sings that “…it was summertime in Northern Michigan” and… oh crap… I just admitted I listen to Kid Rock, didn’t I?
People often complain about bias in survey questions. Its sad, but it happens. The question on seasons shows your egregious bias in favor of the third season. Us regular folks like to use the word "Fall"... you can take "Autumn" back to your rich elitist bubble.
Is fall the ‘third’ season? If it is, I’m egregiously biased against it #SummerForever. Also, elitist? Did you see the part above where I quoted Kid Rock?

There’s no title reference because we’re banning Green Day this year so here’s more Kid Rock.
