Question 1: For which Presidential ticket do you plan to vote this November?
This is Biden’s biggest lead in any of our Tina tracker polls.
I assume there’s political partisanship in the Tinaverse just like across the US. Can you ask some questions that will help educate this community about the reasons/issues motivating voters to choose their presidential candidate this fall?
Love that. Yes.
I am particularly concerned about the vilification of those with whom we disagree. I wonder if the Tinaverse can try to understand the “other” side? Our assumptions about the liberals or the conservatives have become divisive and caustic. I would like to challenge people to entertain another point of view. Listen. This forum seems to be a great place to practice a truly American exchange of ideas.
Love that too. Yes again.
Question 2: How are you planning to cast your vote in November?
Voters who plan to cast their ballots for Trump / Pence overwhelmingly expect to cast their ballots in person, while a plurality of Biden / Harris supporters expect to cast by absentee or mail ballot.
Trump / Pence
Biden / Harris
Third party voters all say they expect to cast their votes by absentee or mail ballot.
I chose voting in person but I’m not sure if my town is going to have one or two locations open for people who choose to do so. I feel more comfortable voting in person if able to. Still think a lot of tampering can be done with mail in ballots.
Undecided voters are equally split between leaning towards Trump and Biden, with some undecided voters leaning towards Jorgensen. Others say they’re still too undecided.
From one undecided voter:
If the president can not tweet dumb things or do anything else that’s stupid until November he might have a chance to win. I live in a blue state and I’m on the fence about voting for him or voting for Jo Jorgensen to help the LP reach the 5% of the popular vote threshold for major party status.
Voters who aren’t planning to vote were asked if anything could change their mind. One user shared:
Deciding to take the time to register. If so, then likely voting for the Biden/Harris ticket.
Question 3: The US Postal Service should operate more like a business. (Agree / Disagree)
That’s an average of 2.8.
the post office is a service, it doesn't need to function as a business (though if you want to make changes that make it more efficient/better for employees, have at it) But if the question is whether it needs to turn a profit, that's just silly.
Question 4: If you can protest in person, you can vote in person. (Agree / Disagree)
That’s an average of 3.2.
Re: “if you can protest in person you can vote in person”. I kind of understand the sentiment but I think people are constantly forgetting about poll workers.
I had a conversation with an Internet stranger who was skeptical of by mail voting so I suggested she sign up as a poll worker. She said she actually is a poll worker but a senior so she’s at risk and therefore not comfortable showing up...so...that’s the whole reason for vote by mail really. It’s not that complicated.
The comparison between protesting and voting, and it's implied conclusion, is a false equivalency. Protesting is a right and a choice people made after weighing the risks; some people chose not to protest in person because they did not feel comfortable, and instead utilized digital means to express their feelings. Voting is also a right, and you should not make someone risk their and others health to execute that right when we have a contact free and legal way for them to do it from home. Taking away the option to mail-in vote because some people feel comfortable going out is a form of suppression.
Question 5: Do you believe Carol Baskin killed her husband?
Welcome back. I know who Baskin is and don't care.
FYI - Carole Baskin is in talks to be on dancing with the stars!
Oh, sweet mercy.
